Rooted in legacy, rising in power. Da' LuV James Book Festival 2025 is back celebrating Black literary brilliance, cultural storytelling, and ancestral pride. We celebrate James Douglas, the mixed-heritage “Father of B.C.,” and the living legacy of Black resilience, creativity, and community. Highlighting the women who shaped James Douglas, from his Creole mother to his Indigenous wife, “Mothers and Daughters of the Diaspora,” honors the often-unspoken power of Black womanhood across generations. Join us for a day of connection, creativity, and community.
